Over the last decade the physics of black holes has been revolutionized by developments that grew out of Jacob Bekenstein's realization that black holes have entropy. Leonard Susskind, one of the co-inventors of the holographic principle as well as one of the founders of string theory, develops and explains these concepts.

For more than two decades, the Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders have been referral centers for the treatment of vulvodynia, sexual pain disorders, dermatologic diseases of the vulva, recurrent vulvovaginal infections, and female sexual dysfunction. In 2009 we celebrated the 24th anniversary of the Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders in Washington D.C. and the 8th anniversary of our offices in New York City and Annapolis, Maryland.
Dr Goldstein's textbook Female Sexual Pain Disorders: Evaluation and Management was released in March 2009. It is the first textbook devoted completely to the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that cause pain during intercourse. All proceeds from this textbook will be donated to the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health.
We are often asked, "Why do I need to come to a specialist for my problem? Isn't my doctor able to treat this?" The unfortunate answer to these questions is that most physicians or nurse practitioners who provide routine gynecologic care have not received adequate training in the diseases of the vulva. In fact, a ****** editorial in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology called the vulva the "forgotten pelvic organ." In addition, most health care providers have insufficient training in the diagnosis and treatment of sexual problems including pain during sex and decreased libido.
Most women believe that vulvar itching, burning, and vaginal discharge can only mean one thing: a yeast infection. But in fact, more than two dozen diseases can cause the symptoms of genital itching, burning, irritation, rawness, throbbing, urinary frequency, urinary urgency, and pain during sex. The physicians at the Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders are specialists in the diagnosis and treatments of these conditions.
The diseases we treat include vulvodynia, vulvar vestibulitis, interstitial cystitis, lichen sclerosus, lichen planus, chronic candidiasis, recurrent bacterial vaginosis, desquamative inflammatory vaginitis, atrophic vestibulitis, pelvic floor dysfunction, human papiloma virus infection (HPV), VIN, herpes, post-herpetic neuralgia, pudendal neuralgia, endometriosis, persistent sexual arousal disorder, and chronic pelvic pain.
